Marcia Kay May (Mefford) died peacefully at Hallmark Care Center on Nov. 29th, 2023, at the age of 71.
Marcia is survived by her Children: Mark May, Valerie May, and Megan (Mitch) Entwisle.
Grandchildren: Colten, Clayten, Kaylynn, and Karlie Entwisle.
Siblings: Dick (Sharon) Mefford, Bill (Cindy) Mefford, Carol Kauffman, Cheryl Reding, Jim (Deb) Mefford, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents LaVerne and Margaret (Boss) Mefford, siblings Judith (Mefford) Stoner, and Pat Mefford; brother-in-law’s Gary Stoner and Mark Reding, and nephew Nicholas Kauffman.
Marcia was born on Dec. 22, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She graduated from Marion High School in 1970. Marcia also attended Kirkwood Community College and Hamilton Business College. She went on to a career in many different areas, most recently for the Marion Independent School District.
She was a generous, and witty individual who loved cooking and was passionate about her family and friends. She was proud of the time she spent working at Vernon Middle School and thought very highly of the staff and children she helped during her time there.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Dec. 9th from 1:00-4:00 pm at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2210 Grand Ave Marion, IA. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Marcia’s life.
