Marcia Louise Smith, 77, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at the cabin in Minnesota at a later date.
Marcia was born on June 28, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa, to Lawrence and Mary (Kulp) Smith. She graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School in Dubuque, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Winslow on August 5, 1983, in Asbury, Iowa. She retired from Rockwell-Collins in Cedar Rapids.
Marcia's enthusiasm for reading was evident, as she particularly enjoyed mystery novels and the pages of People magazine. She also took great pleasure in doing her morning crossword puzzles. Her summer trips to her cabin in Minnesota were a source of joy and she looked forward to the time spent there. She deeply appreciated the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Mike Smith, Patty Zahina and Kevin (Barbara) Smith; stepson, Steve (Kim) Winslow; step-grandchildren Brittany, Erica, and Austin; step-great-grandchildren, Noah and Quinley; her nieces and nephews; and many friends who became family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; and sister-in-law, Mary Smith.
