Marcia Lynn Koering, 75, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa, with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Marcia was born Oct. 16, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Edwin and Florence (Ebert) Koering. After graduating from high school in Stanwood, Iowa, she graduated from Young School of Beauty Culture in 1965. Marcia was a lifelong hairdresser in the Cedar Rapids area for almost 57 years, she owned and operated Hair Reflections by Marcia for more than 30 years. Marcia's clients will miss the annual Bloomers Contest in her shop and her chuckle for the day. She enjoyed visiting and socializing at the casino and loved dancing. She had a strong faith and was a member of Unity Center Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marcia is survived and lovingly remembered by her sister, Virjean Countryman of Rogers, Ark.; niece, Kim (Doug) Wilson of Mount Auburn, Iowa; nephews, Steve (Laurie) Koering of Eden Prairie, Minn., David (Laura) Koering of Shellsburg, Iowa, Lee (Brenda) Countryman of North English, Iowa, Doug (Linda) Countryman of Wenatchee, Wash., Scott (Yvar Torrealba) Countryman of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Matt (Jennifer) Countryman of Camden, N.Y.; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Larry; brother-in-law, Claire Countryman; sister-in-law, Gloria; and great-great-nephew, Tyler Ainsworth.
