Marcene L. Pollet, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Services will be Monday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with Pastor Brien Brough officiating. Entombment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marcene L. Pollet was born Oct. 12, 1932, to Frederick and Martha Gail Randall in Ottumwa, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Charles A. Pollet on Aug. 1, 1951, in Cedar Rapids. He passed away in 2004. Marcene graduated from Paris Academy and was a beautician. She also was employed at Collins Radio, Quaker Oats and various other places.
Marcene enjoyed crocheting, gardening and shopping. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during the holidays, when they shared many fond memories. Marcene was an avid animal lover, but most importantly was always helping people in need.
She will be forever remembered for her caring demeanor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Osterkamp, Vicky (Don) Bowers and Sherry (Steve) Keiper, all of Cedar Rapids; nephew, Dale Haddad; her special dog, Cuddles; 10 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Marcene was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; son, Charles Jr.; parents; brother, Raymond; and sister, Helen.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
