Marcella Rose (Wentland) VanNevel, 84, of Belle Plaine, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017, at Belle Plaine Specialty Care.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 16, at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Victor, with Father Corey Close officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Victor. Visitation is 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service in Belle Plaine and will continue one hour before the service Friday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Marcella was born June 28, 1932, to John and Mildred (Keefe) Wentland in Grinnell, Iowa. Marcella grew up in the Hartwick area and attended Hartwick Consolidated School. On Aug. 24, 1949, she married Andy VanNevel. To this union they had six children, Linda, an infant son, Bob, Susan, Bill and Jim. She worked in Amana until retirement in 1994.
Marcella enjoyed playing cards, planting flowers and decorating for every holiday. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She loved traveling out of state to visit them and being with family at holidays and gatherings.
Marcella is survived by her children, Linda Roggentien, Susan (Mike) Rego, Bill (Cathy) VanNevel and Jim (Tina) VanNevel; sister, Kay Herzberg; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; son, Bob VanNevel; great-granddaughters, Selena Apadaca and Isabella Severson; brothers, Johnny and Mike Wentland; and sisters, JoAnn Miller and Jeanne VanNevel.
