Marcella Marie Sharp, 77, of Roscommon, Mich., formerly of Marion, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at her home. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Marcella is survived by her children, Harriet (Michael) Hansen of Roscommon, Mich., and Nadine Meyer of Mount Prospect, Ill.; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Eldon (Tina) Nuehring of Milton, Fla., and Karen Dahlin of Jacksonville, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Garth Holscher and Eugene Sharp; and daughter, Debbie Sue Meyer.

Marcella was born Jan. 17, 1940, in Kanawha, Iowa, the daughter of Erwin and Marie (Meinders) Nuehring. She graduated from Klemme High School and attended Waldorf College. Marcella married Herman Meyer in 1962 and they later divorced in 1981. On June 22, 1984, she was united in marriage to Garth Holscher. He passed away in 1986. In June 1990, Marcella married Eugene Sharp; he passed away in 1995. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marion and most recently Good Shepherd United Methodist Church of Roscommon, Mich.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Marcella's memory.
