Marcella Evelyn Hynek,
96, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Swisher, died Tuesday,
Oct. 31, 2017, at St. Luke's Living Center West. A
private family Celebration of Life will be held at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids. She will be
laid to rest in Anderson Cemetery near Swisher.
Marcella was born June 20, 1921, in Solon, the daughter of Frank and Amelia "Molly" (Chaloupka) Maresh. She married Adolph Hynek on Sept. 20, 1939, at First Presbyterian Church near Ely. Evelyn was a lifetime member of the Swisher American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and spending time with her family, especially the grandkids.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Bernita (Jim) Ford of Ely, and Bernard Hynek and Daryl (Mary) Hynek, both of Swisher; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph, on Nov. 6, 2000; her grandson, Jason Hynek; her sons-in-law, Jack Viall and John Rozinek; her brother, Lloyd (Rose) Maresh; and her sister, Leone (Bud) Novy.
