Marcelene "Marcy" Evelyn Sillman, 85, of Marion, died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at The Villages at Marion. Memorial service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, with visitation one hour prior to service. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Marcy was born Sept. 19, 1932, the daughter of Thomas and Josephine (Pierick) Hoye, in Iowa City, Iowa. On May 26, 1956, she was married to Larry T. Sillman. He passed away in 2016. Marcy worked for Rockwell Collins for 28 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Labor Union.
Marcy loved the outdoors and animals. She would often work out at the Rockwell Recreation Center. She and Larry enjoyed traveling on their motorcycle and camping with friends and family. They and their friends formed two groups where they shared special times together, a coffee group and camping group.
Survivors include her four children, Mark (Cindy) Sillman, Susan (Jeff) Rager, Carol (Ben) Ampulski and Paul (Michelle) Sillman; 13 grandchildren, Michelle, Mike, Rebecca, Christopher, Wesley, Jenna, Nicholas, Jordan, Anthony, Ike, Mason, Austin and Skyler; two brothers, William Hoye and Merle (Ronnie) Hoye; two sisters, Colletta Eisenhofer and Trudy Rocca; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Thomas Hoye Jr.; and sister, Delores Hoye.
A special thank-you to Village Ridge Memory Unit and to UnityPoint Hospice for their wonderful care for Marcy.
