Manross, Lowell L.
Lowell L. Manross, 92, of Independence, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at West Village Care Center, Independence, following a short illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor Tom Jones officiating. Friends may call for visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at White Funeral Home in Independence, where a military service begins at 7 p.m. Burial: Wilson Cemetery.
Mr. Manross is survived by two daughters, Nancy (John) Willard of Independence and Diane (Dean) Reck of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Margaret L. (Greene) Manross; one grandson and two sisters.
He was born June 4, 1917, in Independence, Iowa. On March 20, 1945, he and the former Ruth Marie Neil were married in Fairbank She preceded him in death in 2009.
