MANLY R. LECLERE Cedar Rapids Manly R. LeClere, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services at 1 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after noon Friday. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include a son, Alan of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Nelson of Prairieburg. He also is survived by three granddaughters, Jennifer and Katie McGowan and Crystal (Steve) Hird; and five great grandchildren, Dante, Shyenna, Nora, Aubrie and Cain. He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Yvonne McGowan; and three sisters, May, Merna and Nona. Manly was born Jan. 23, 1932, in rural Hopkinton, the son of Ray and Minerva Radcliff LeClere. He married Doris A. Halstead on July 22, 1951, in Coggon. Doris passed away in 2007. Manly worked in maintenance at LeFebure and retired from there after more than 42 years of service. He enjoyed bowling, mall walking and spending time with his family in their cabin at Lake Delhi. Manly liked welding and tinkering in his garage. He could build and repair just about anything. He was very proud of his military service in the Army, especially the time he served in England. Manly was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
