Mangan, Delores Margaret (Bergstrom)
Delores Margaret (Bergstrom) Mangan, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012, in her home surrounded by her children.
Delores was born on Nov. 12, 1929 in Webster City, Iowa, the daughter of Pete and Leone (Bahnsen) Dougherty. She was raised in Northeast Iowa, married Bill Bergstrom, with whom she raised their children in Des Moines until Bill's death. Married Bob Mangan and lived in Elkader, Iowa, for her remaining years.
Delores enjoyed family, friends, music, crafting and laughter. She was a very creative person with many talents.
Survivors include daughters, Patti Parker (Don) of St. Louis, Mo., and Beth Heithoff (Rob) of Chanhassen, Minn.; son, Brian Bergstrom (Penny) of Des Moines,; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Darlene Dittmer of Elkader, Janice Hanson of Cedar Rapids, and Jeanette Prideaux of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, Mike Bergstrom; two grandson-in-laws; and six siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Elkader. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a 5 p.m. parish rosary at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader. Friends may also call an hour before services Friday at the church. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Elkader.
