Malone, Phillip D.
Phillip D. Malone, 75, of Marion, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Memorial service: 5 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. The family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, before the service.
Survivors include his wife, Mona; his children, Brandy Joyner, Dennis (Courtnee) Malone and Dan (Stacie) Reed; eight grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Phillip was born Sept. 29, 1934, the son of Dennis and Josephine (Sands) Malone, in Dundee, Iowa. He married Mona Reed on Oct. 12, 1991, in Coggon, Iowa. Phillip served in the U.S. Army for five years. Phillip was employed at LeFebure as an electronic technician until his retirement. He was a handyman who loved the outdoors and especially his grandkids.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Veridian Credit Union in Phillip's memory.
