Janet White Malins
Janet White Malins, 71, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away June 25, 2012, following a sudden illness.
Janet Ann White was born Dec. 26, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, to Theodore and Lillian White. Janet was a 1958 graduate of Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Coe College in 1962.
Janet is survived by her husband, Lee; son, Tim (Nancy) Kubik; daughter, Rebecca (John) Worthington; and grandchildren, Ken and Sophie Kubik and Catherine and Elizabeth Worthington.
A teacher for 14 years in the Iowa City Public School District, Janet was a life-long learner. She enjoyed learning about other countries on her travels with her husband, Lee.
Her other interests included gardening, sketching, and serving on the New Braunfels Outdoor Art Museum Committee.
A funeral service was held for Janet in New Braunfels. Private family graveside services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in July. A memorial picnic will be held July 25 at Lake Macbride. Call (248) 534-0520 for additional details.
