Mahan, Danny LaVaun
Danny LaVaun Mahan, 64, of Ladora, formerly of North English, died after a sudden illness on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a general memorial fund has been established.

He is survived by daughters, Merre Mahan of Kalona, and Kathleen Mahan-Vandepol of Hornick; four grandchildren, Paul Wittke, Laynie Mahan, Marley Wagnor and David Vandepol; his mother, Rose Mahan of North English; and brothers and sister, Linda Mahan-Scott, Don Mahan, Terry Mahan and R.J. Mahan.
