Mag was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Iowa City, the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Greazel) Lenoch. Growing up in Iowa City, she graduated from St. Mary's High School. Mag later received her registered nurse degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Iowa City, in 1946. On Feb. 12, 1947, she married W. John Kasper at St. Wenceslaus Church in Iowa City.
Mag was a nurse at Mercy Iowa City and provided nursing care for Iowa City physicians, as well as private home health care. She was a precinct worker for many years in Johnson County elections. Mag actively served others in her many pursuits, the farm, her garden, her family and her church. Mag and John always enjoyed their trips to the northwoods and had wintered in Port Aransas, Texas, for several years. Her family lovingly remembers her as the "Energizer Bunny." She made the greatest pancakes but overcooked the steaks.
Mag is survived by her children, Linda Johnson (Dwayne "Jay") of Iowa City, Barbara Kruzic of Nevada, Iowa, Patricia Spevacek (Gary) of Iowa City and Ed Kasper (Lisa) of Roland, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, Amanda, Cole, Jason, Jacob, Rachel, Amy, Tamara, Travis, Brian, Mike and Katie; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her sister, Rita Krall of Iowa City; brother, John (Sophia) Lenoch of Iowa City; and sisters-in-law, Pat Lenoch of Iowa City and Kathryne Lenoch of Madison, Wis.
Her parents; her husband, John; brothers, The Rev. Francis Lenoch, Leo Lenoch and Peter Lenoch; a nephew, Steve Lenoch; and a niece, Ann Lenoch died before her.
