Mae Grace Huggins, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at
10 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2018, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the service.
Mae Grace Huggins was born on Aug. 12, 1929, in Ismay, Mont., the daughter of Lloyd and Rose Brown. Mae married the love of her life, Paul, on May 31, 1955, in Kahoka, Mo. They raised six children, Larry (Esther), Terry (Val), Nancy (Dennis), William (Christine), Robbin (Jon II) and Londa. She spent her life babysitting and spoiling her family. Mae was a homemaker and devoted wife, loving to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mae enjoyed attending the country music shows in Branson, Mo., and spending time with her husband just driving around. She had 21 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Mae and Paul are thankful to their very special friends/godparents, Gary and Susan Kuene of Marion, who have been part of their lives for over four decades.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Rose Brown; her siblings, Laura, Alice, Roy and Burt; her son, Gary; one grandchild; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial fund has been established in Mae's name.
