Madlon, Julia L.
Julia L. Madlon, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, in the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include her sons, Thomas J. Maule (Penny Cowen) of What Cheer, Timothy E. Maule (Pam Chenet) of Oskaloosa, and Todd D. (Jennifer) Maule of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Nancy Angilin of San Francisco, Calif.; a stepson, George Madlon of Marion; a stepdaughter, Kim McIntosh of Oelwein; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Julia was born Dec. 12, 1940, in Delhi, Calif., the daughter of Emil and Verta Henson Michalec. She married George Arthur Madlon on Nov. 15, 1987. Julia was employed at Amana Refrigeration for 35 years. She enjoyed dancing with George, spending time at their cabin at Harpers Ferry, in northeast Iowa, where they also enjoyed the fishing. Julia was known for her cooking. She spent much time cooking for family events and cooking for her beloved grandson, Max who spent much time with her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
