Madhu Sudan Niraula, 48, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa.
Madhu was born on April 29, 1973, in Solu Khambu, Nepal, the son of Ramchandra and Satyadevi Niraula. He was a well-educated man, completing several masters programs. Madhu worked at Rockwell Collins since 2006 as the Associate Director of Systems Engineering. He had a passion for the outdoors, traveling, hiking and gardening. Madhu was a hard worker and always busy spending time volunteering with hospice care or enjoying time with family. His family meant the world to him. Madhu will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Madhu is survived and lovingly remembered by his maternal grandmother of 108 years of Nepal; mother, Satyadevi Niraula of Nepal; sister, Goma Devi (Siddhi Raj) Koirala of Nepal; brothers, Om Prakash (Anita) Niraula of Nepal and Krishna Niraula (Pasang PL Niraula) of Lisbon, Portugal; daughters, Narayani and Kalyani Niraula of New York; nieces, Saika Koirala, Amira and Prativa Niraula; nephews, Sakar Koirala; his partner in life, Bonny Athy of Riverside, Iowa; his American family, Jack and Pinkeo Vivona of Maryland; and a host of family and friends in the U.S. and Nepal.
He was preceded in death by his father.
