Lyon, Franklin Joseph
Franklin Joseph Lyon Sr., 55, of Clare, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Aug. 22, 2009, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation took place on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m.
Franklin Joseph Lyon Sr., the son of Floyd and Margaret (Humpal) Lyon, was born on June 11, 1954, in Fort Dodge. Frank attended school in Gilmore City and married Denise Passow on Dec. 29, 1972, which was later dissolved, and married Terri Brown on Oct. 3, 1992. Frank first farmed right out of high school until 1984, when he started his own contracting business later known as Lyon Construction. He continued his career as a general contractor until 2008 when he became ill.
Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved grilling at the family picnic at Copper's Cove. He committed much of his time to his wife, children and grandchildren.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 17 years, Terri Lyon; sons, Frank (Amanda) Lyon Jr. and Christopher Lyon; daughters, Tammy (Matt) Alstott and Jessica Lyon; and 12 grandchildren, Ethan, Tessa, Cainen, Alexis, Alex, Austin, Braden, Hailey, Hope, Cohen, Xzavior and Oakley. He also is survived by his father, Floyd Lyon; brother, Ted Lyon; sisters, Teresa Kenning, Cherie (Randy) Schlenker, Cynthia Loftus, Tina Phillips; and a daughter-in-law, Melissa Brown.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother Margaret and a son, Troy Brown.
