Lynott, Patrick F.
Patrick F. Lynott, 94, a resident of Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, at All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. David O'Connor. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, and one hour before the service Friday at the church. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include five children, Patrick F. (Sharon) Lynott Jr. of Marshalltown, Joseph (Deborah) Lynott of Mount Vernon, Rose (Russ) Ubben of Oelwein, Nancy Lynott (John Drozda) of Sacramento, Calif., and Bob (Kelly) Lynott of Robins; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, who died Feb. 21, 2006; his parents; a son, John; and a granddaughter, Kathleen.
Patrick was born May 16, 1916, the son of John and Agnes (Wagner) Lynott, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Cedar Rapids. Patrick married Mildred Zelezny on Oct. 8, 1940, at St. Ludmila's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Together they farmed in rural Mount Vernon for 65 years and Patrick worked at FMC for 15 years.
