Lynn Robin Leighton, 57, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following complications from surgery.
A Celebration of Life will be held from
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at the Blairstown Community Building. A private interment will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Luzerne.
Lynn was born Aug. 5, 1960, at Marengo Memorial Hospital to Martin "Matt" and Lorna (Lorenz) Rieck. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1978 and attended Spencer School of Business for two years.
Lynn worked as the executive administrative assistant at PMX Industries and formerly was employed at Dain Bosworth and Genencor. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall. Lynn gave her all in everything she did and would give you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it more.
She is survived by her mother, Lorna Rieck of Vinton; her brother and sisters, Leland (Sabra) Rieck of Cedar Rapids, Barbara (Steve) Manternach of Watkins and Lori (Kelyn) VonAhsen of Newhall; her nieces and nephews, Tara (Clark) Grell of Omaha, Neb., Matthew Rieck of Maquoketa, Jessica (Mitch Walker) Manternach of North Liberty, David (Danielle) Manternach of Watkins and Kathryn (Nick) Hafner of Williamsburg; and great nephew, Peyton Rieck of Maquoketa.
Lynn was preceded in death by her father, Martin "Matt" Rieck; sister, Cheryl Rieck; niece, Debbie Manternach; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
