Lynn Norris Engel, 79, of Marion, passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to
7 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. with a one-hour visitation before the service at St. Mark's Lutheran Faith and Life Church. Inurnment will follow the service at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lynn Norris Engel was born on May 19, 1939, the son of Paul and Mildred (Olsen) Engel. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Lynn was united in marriage to Edith Mae Wells on June 4, 1977, in Cedar Rapids. He worked for General Mills for 26 years, retiring in 2004. Lynn enjoyed traveling with Edith, singing, watching old-time movies, airplanes and, most of all, loved spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Joey Engel.
Left to cherish memories of Lynn are his wife, Edith Engel of Marion; five children, Kimberly Engel of Tulsa, Okla., Keith (Amy) Engel of Tulsa, Okla., Karl (Faith O'Neal) Engel of Claremore, Okla., Brian Engel of Virginia and David (Tiffany) Engel of St. Paul, Minn.; four grandchildren, Kayla Engel, Montana Engel, Matthew Hawkins and Noah Engel; and three siblings, Sue (Don) Dunshee of Houston, Norma Hoos of Des Moines and Mark Engel of Atlanta.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society in Lynn's name.
