Lyndon Arnold Wolf, 79, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at a later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lyndon was born on Dec. 15, 1943, in Waseca, Minn., the son of Lyndon Arlo and Francis Louise (Coson) Wolf. He was a graduate of Waseca High School. Lyndon served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On April 26, 1969, Lyndon was united in marriage to Rose Marie Goedken and together they had three children. He went on to become a Powerhouse Mechanic/Operator for General Mills and remained there for 38 ½ years, until retirement in 2008. Everyone knew him for his good sense of humor, contagious laugh, and the sparkle in his eye. Lyndon was an avid hunter and fisher and enjoyed cycling. His greatest joy was his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Lyndon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lyndon is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Rose; daughter, Cindy (Doug) Bartels of North Liberty, Iowa; son, Chris (Julie) Wolf of Falls Church, Va.; grandchildren, Alex and Annalee Bartels and Vivienne and Grayson Wolf; three sisters, Nancy, Colleen, and Joy; and one brother, Jerry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Pamela Wolf.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Lyndon’s memory may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church
