Lyle K. Wilson, 75, of Dyersville, formerly of Oelwein, died suddenly Saturday morning, May 24, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Dyersville. Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 30, at Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein, with the Rev. Leo Combs-Lay
officiating. Visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery, rural Oelwein.
A memorial fund has been eatablished in his name.

Lyle Kendall Wilson was born Nov. 18, 1938, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Edith (Miller) Wilson. He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1957. Lyle served in the
Iowa National Guard. He married Esther May Suhr on June 14, 1959, at St. John Lutheran Church in Arlington, Iowa. Lyle worked in the parts department at Iowa Motor Co. in Oelwein, Wilbur Ford in West Union and Finnin Ford in Dubuque. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein. Lyle enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren in their various activities. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards and spending time with friends at Farmers Shipping in Dyersville.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 54 years, Esther Wilson of Dyersville; son, Larry (Melanie)
Wilson of Dyersville; daughter, Connie (Brent) Sharff of Maynard; four grandchildren, Marissa and Daniel Wilson, both of Dyersville, and Brianne and Andrew Sharff, both of Maynard; four brothers, Delbert Wilson of Oelwein, Harry (Doris) Wilson of Denver, William (Janet) Wilson of Strawberry Point and Wayne (Becky) Wilson of Ankeny; two sisters, Elaine Suhr of Decorah and Mary (Jere) Vyverberg of Waverly; 11 brothers and sisters-in-law, Arnold (Luella) Suhr of Arlington, Bev Suhr of Bothell, Wash., Ruth (Roderic) Kamper of Strawberry Point, Paul Suhr of Arlington, Dale (Margaret) Suhr of Calmar, JoAnn (Dick) Hughson of Oelwein, Nancy (Richard) Buhmann of Randalia, Ronald Suhr of Spring Green, Wis., Mary (Jerry) Henderson of Arlington, Duane (Mary) Suhr of Ankeny and Donna (Mike) Buhman of Fayette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Gary Suhr and Donald Suhr.
