Lyle Otis Weston, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel. Inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lyle was born on Feb. 4, 1934, to Leslie and Gladys (Harrington) Weston in Hazleton, Iowa. He married Maelene Marie James on April 25, 1959, in Cedar Rapids. He worked for 49 years as an electrician at Wilsons, Penford and Genecor.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Maelene Weston; their three children, David (Lori Woodward) Weston of Central City, Jannes (Michael) Riley of Belcamp, Md., and Kathy (Rocky) Martin of Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren, Nacole (Lance) Cufr, Joshua (Rachel) Weston, Brittany (Jared) Ray, Matthew Jensen and Shaun Riley; five great-grandchildren; and his siblings Larry, Vonnie and Cheryl.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Richard, Russel and Lynell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
