Lyle Tempus, 94, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Buchanan County Health Center, Independence. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Independence. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, at Fawcett Funeral Home in Winthrop and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Survivors include his five children, Chuck (Lois) Tempus of Aurora, Peg (Roy) Angle of Coon Rapids, Minn., Don (MaryAnne) Tempus of Eastman, Wis., Dave (Kathy) Tempus of Nora Springs and Doug (Joyce) Tempus of Northwood.
