Lyle LaVerne Moser, 65, of Guttenberg, died Thursday, June 25, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
He was born March 23, 1950, on the family farm
outside of Osterdock, the son of Ira and Verda Mae (Noack) Moser. Lyle was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Guttenberg and later joined St. John's Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Lyle received his education from the Guttenberg School, where he gradu-ated with the class of 1968. On April 26, 1969, Lyle married his classmate and high school sweetheart, Denise Duwe, at St. John's in Guttenberg. This marriage blessed them with two children, Tammy and Lee.
Over the years, Lyle worked for Swales, Kuhlman Construction and the Clayton County Road Crew until he was disabled by cancer. Lyle was a 12-year member of the Guttenberg Fire Department, where he received Fireman of the Year in 1981.
Lyle enjoyed gardening and canning with his family, hunting, eBay shopping, collecting Allis- Chalmers and spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish Lyle's memory are his wife of 46 years, Denise; two children, Tammy (Dave) Kickbush of Guttenberg and Lee "Jake" (Rachel) Moser of Waukon; grandchildren, Preslie Moser, Alex Hyde, Carlie Hyde and Madelyn Moser; siblings, Gary (Fern) Moser of Guttenberg, Owen (Delene) Moser of La Crosse, Wis., Shirleen (Darrel) Fredlake of Guttenberg, Dianna (Kevin) Hale and Cindy (Neil) Meyer, both of Colesburg, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leon Moser; mother- and father in-law, Berdina and Howard Duwe; and a brother-in-law, Darwin Duwe.
Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, 207 S. First St., Guttenberg. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. Funeral service will be at St. John's Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Shane Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Guttenberg City Cemetery.
