Lyle Clive Williams, 67, of Center Point, Iowa, passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in Iowa City, Iowa, after a courageous battle with leukemia.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturrday, April 23, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A funeral service will be offered at 2 p.m. with the Pastor Luke McCoy officiating.
Lyle was born on Oct. 5, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of the late Lawrence Clive and Wanda (Craig) Williams. In his younger years, Lyle was an avid baseball player. He was a late model racer at Hawkeye Downs for over ten years. He was also an owner of two businesses in Cedar Rapids. Lyle's most treasured memories are with his entire family and his enormous amount of friends.
Those left to cherish Lyle's memory are his wife, Mary Williams of Center Point, Iowa; his children, Shawnacy (Gabe) Rohwedder of Palo, Iowa, and Nicholas (Amy Eiben) Williams of Coggon, Iowa; his grandchildren, Trinity, Olivia, Henrik, Graison and Caden; his brother, Larry (Nina) Williams; and his nephew, Lance Williams (Raymie Rojas).
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Leonard, William and Carol.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
