Lydic, Francis 'Frank'
Francis “Frank” Lydic Francis “Frank” Lydic, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Kenwood Park United Methodist Church by the Rev. Laura Smith. Visitation will be today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Lydic; daughter, Jean A. (Bruce) Fuller of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Calvin Paul (Nikki) Spinka of Cedar Rapids; brother, Irvin (Hazel) Berkey, and sister, Geraldine Berkey, both of Windber, Pa.; and sister, Lelia Berkey of Pittsburg, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Roy A. Lydic; and grandson, Francis I. Spinka.
Francis was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Johnstown, Pa. He married Betty L. Miller there on April 3, 1954. He was a retired instructor for Kirkwood Community College teaching Occupational Therapy Assistance. He was a member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, reading, teaching and attending the Kirkwood Retirees Activities.
