Luverne Druecker, 86, of Marion, Iowa, died Sunday, March 5, 2023. Private family services will be held at a later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion is assisting the family.
Luverne was born Feb. 15, 1937, in Volga, Iowa, the son of Mainard and Helen (Weger) Druecker. He graduated from Volga High School, Class of 1955. Luverne served in the United States Army from 1956-58. He was united in marriage to Shirley Mezera on May 7, 1960, in Prairie du Chien, Wis. Luverne was a farmer and also worked for Longview Fibre. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Luverne enjoyed farming, going on trips, and striking up conversations; he was always interested in hearing everyone’s story. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Luverne is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Shirley Druecker; son, Dean (Rosalinda) Druecker; grandchildren, Aaron (Kristin) Cannon, Ellen (fiancé, Jared) Cannon, and Kaden Druecker; great-grandchildren, Finnigan and Sadie Cannon; brother, Ronald Druecker of Volga; and son-in-law, Pat Cannon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mainard and Helen Druecker; daughter, Dawn Cannon; and sister, Carol Hexom.
