LuRie Susan Fairlie, 68, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, July 4, 2021. A visitation will be held from
4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 9, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.
LuRie was born June 8, 1953, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Austin and Mary Lou (Pohlpeter) Fairlie. She worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigations in Washington, D.C. LuRie was also employed at United Fire Group and Mercy Medical Center. She was a member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. LuRie's greatest love was baking with every generation of her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her siblings, Andy (Christina) Fairlie of Lebanon, Ill., Stefanie (Rocky) Cihla of Cedar Rapids, Emma Jo (John) Pulver of Cedar Rapids, Audrey (Art) Johnson of San Antonio, Texas, Anthony (Elizabeth) Fairlie of Cedar Rapids and Tim (Crystal) Fairlie of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Mary Lou Fairlie.
