Luke, Galen A.
Galen A. Luke, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died at home Friday, Oct. 11, 2013. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, by the Rev. Bill Harnish. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Carol, of 36 years; daughter, Katie (Chris Nugent) Tihpen, and her children, Jiles, Jayden and Kalen Tihpen and Maddox and Presley Sercy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and stepmother, Bernice Luke.
Galen was born July 23, 1943, in Anamosa, to Arthur and Mildred Luke. He married Carol Dvorak in Cedar Rapids on July 7, 1977. He worked in the shipping department at Harnischfeger Manufacturing for over 24 years and then retired from the Cedar Rapids school system in 2009.
A memorial fund has been established.
