Luckstead, Norma J.

Norma J. Luckstead, 70, of Olin, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 17, at 10 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin, with Pastor Pat Slater officiating. Family and friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Olin Cemetery.

Norma Jean Wagner was born Dec. 20, 1939, in Coon Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Albert and Dorothy (Herron) Wagner. She attended school in Coon Rapids. She married Richard Luckstead on July 6, 1957, in Stanwood. She was a cook at Hale Tap for many years, and was known for her tenderloins and famous salads.

She loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard “Lucky” Luckstead; two daughters, Cindy Jean (Timothy) Holmes and Kim (Kasey) Brecht, both of Olin; four grandchildren, Matt Holmes, Travis (Nicole Puetz) Holmes, Zach and Emily Brecht; and one sister, Violet Brinkman of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard and Leland; and one sister, Leora.

Memorials are preferred.
