Lucille Price, 95, of Anamosa, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa. The Rev. Nick March will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Anamosa. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where a parish vigil service and family rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thoughts, memories and condolences may be shared with them at www.goettschonline.com.
Lucille Agnes Holub was born April 23, 1923, in Prairieburg, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Kula) Holub. She married Clyde Price on Nov. 17, 1943. Together they farmed north of Anamosa at Cass Center. Clyde died in 1987.
She was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with her friends, Joan Holub, Ruth Hintz and Eleanor Schultejohns, all members of the Merry Widows Club. She loved playing cards, dancing and decorating her house and yard for all the holidays.
She is remembered by her children, Shirley Rosencrans, Anamosa, Caro Thompson, Marion, Linda Price, Anamosa, and Gary (Amy) Price, Anamosa; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Sophie Prull; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Joan Holub; a brother-in-law, Richard Prull; and her in-laws and their spouses, Arvena and Burl Cook, Willo and Jerry Kula, Kate and Adrian Fitzsimmons, Ervin and Elaenor Price, Merle and Mary Ann Price and Ernest and Lois Price.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Above and Beyond Hospice and Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation for the care Lucille received.
