Lucille Miller, 96, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb 6, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Peterson officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials have been established for Trinity United Methodist Church in Riverside, Mercy Hospital Foundation or Iowa City Hospice.

Lucille was born Feb. 26, 1918, in Crawfordsville, Iowa, the daughter of Roy M. and Singne (Lindbloom) Finke. She grew up on a farm north of Washington and graduated from Washington High School. Following graduation, she was employed by the federal government. Lucille was united in marriage to George W. Miller on April 18, 1945. The couple farmed together north of Washington until 1990 when they moved to Halcyon House.
Lucille was a homemaker who enjoyed flowers and crocheting, shopping and going out to eat with the "Miller ladies." After retirement, she developed an interest in drawing and sharing them with friends and family. Lucille was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Riverside.
Lucille is survived by two daughters, Linda Alberhasky and husband Ron of Coralville and Janet Gierwiatoski and husband Joe of Rockford, Ill.; and son-in-law, Doug Tindal and wife Pam of Washington, Iowa. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Eric Tindal and wife Cindy, Clint Alberhasky, Jami Roberts and husband Justin, Ben Gierwiatoski and Megan Gierwiatoski; and four great-grandchildren, Anna and Abby Tindal and Zachary and Addison Roberts; as well as sisters-in-law, Dorothy Miller, Ruth Miller and Alberta Miller; and brother-in-law, Maynard Goff and wife Evelyn.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007; her daughter, Bonnie Tindal; granddaughter, Laura Tindal; two sisters, Clara Johnson and Alice Ahmling; and three brothers, Everett, William and Ellis Finke.
She will be remembered as caring, cheerful, and always optimistic. Her smile will be missed by all.
