Lucille Magdalen Wittenmeyer, 99, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully on Feb. 20, 2022, at Woodlands, Meth-Wick Community. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, All Saints Catholic Church, by the Rev. John Flaherty. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Teahen Funeral Home is assisting the family. Due to concerns over COVID-19, it is suggested that family members and friends wear a mask to any funeral event.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Paula (Denis) Ojala of Tallahassee, Fla., Gloria (Leo) Stickley of Cedar Rapids and Judi Daly (Jim Garreau) of Statesville, N.C.; grandchildren, Brian Stickley of Fairview, Jeff (Kelly) Stickley of Springville, Jon (Amanda) Daly of Valparaiso, Ind., and Jaime Jones of Mechanicsville, Md.; and great-grandchildren, Samantha Stickley of Fairview, Rionna Stickley of Springville, Micah (Lauren) Stickley and Blake (Kariann) Stickley, both of Marion, Kia Stickley of Montrose, Pa., Evan Daly and Zachary Daly both of Valparaiso, Ind., and George Jones IV, Gracie Jones and Hannah Jones, all of Mechanicsville, Md.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Vorhies; second husband, Raymond Wittenmeyer Jr.; parents; and brothers, Richard and Joseph Bousek.
Lucille was born on July 5, 1922, in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Joseph and Hattie Cacek Bousek. She married Elmer Vorhies on Nov. 11, 1947, and after his death, Raymond Wittenmeyer Jr. on Sept. 8, 1989, at All Saints Catholic Church. Lucille was an office manager for Prudential Insurance Company from 1956 to 1986.
Lucille enjoyed gardening, sewing and family times. She will be deeply missed.
