Lucille Marie Kula, 87, of Marion, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Marion, conducted by Pastor Dennis Johnson and Pastor Miranda Klosterboer. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Prairieburg.
Lucille is survived by her children, Darrell (Barb) Kula of Plymouth, Minn., Dwayne (Nancy) Kula of Ryan and Deborah (Randy) McGraw of Coggon; grandchildren, Phillip Kula, Nathan Kula, Rodney Kula, Matthew Carson, Pat Carson, Tim Carson, Laura Knox, Melissa Vernon and Allison Kula; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald Gilmore of Monticello.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; grandson, Ryan; sisters, Neva and Enid; and brothers, Floyd and Dale.
Lucille was born May 7, 1929, on the family farm in Linn County to Ralph and Alma (De Voe) Gilmore. On Sept. 6, 1945, in Prairieburg, she married Donald J. Kula. Don and Lucille were longtime Linn County farmers.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Marion. Lucille was an avid card player and especially enjoyed working picture puzzles.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Lucille's memory.
