Ladora
Lucille E. Brown, 80, of Ladora, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with George Grothman officiating. Burial: Ohio
Cemetery, Ladora. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
A memorial fund has been established.
Lucille is survived by her husband, Duane; two sons, Steven and Duane Jr., both of Ladora; a daughter, Brenda Lee Peters (Dean) of Bowling Green, Va.; a brother, Robert Sebetka (Joann) of Ely; and a sister, Marie Vanous of Independence.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Maureen Brown, in 2012.
Lucille Evelyn was born Aug. 26, 1934, in rural Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mary Marousek Sebetka. She graduated from Alburnett High School in 1952 and married Duane Grant Brown on Dec. 15, 1955, at the Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids.
Besides being a wife and mother, Lucille assisted her family on the farm. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and canning and taking care of the chickens. She was especially fond of her cats.
