Luciann Arends, 71, of Oxford Junction, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. To honor Luciann's request, there will be no services.
She was born Dec. 9, 1950, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Marion and Lela Reid Ginkens. She married DeWayne Arends on April 13, 2002.
Survivors include her husband, DeWayne; sons, William (Denise) Robert Ginkens and Cory (Christi) Lee Kintzel; brother, William Reid Ginkens; grandchildren, Ashley and Brittany Ginkens, Chris and Cory Carlyle, Emma Anderson and Sam Kintzel; great-granddaughter, Braelyn Carlyle; niece, Amythest Warrington; and nephew, Soren Hultman.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Lucy spent her lifetime working with horses and had a World Champion paint mare at one time. She worked her lifetime in the trucking industry, and she also had a very special bond with her granddaughter Ashley.
