Loyce J. Larsen, 89, longtime resident of the Iowa City area, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015, at Iowa City Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, at Our Redeemer Lutheran
Church in Iowa City, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until services on Saturday at the church.
A memorial fund has been established in Loyce's memory.

Loyce Josephine Erickson was born July 30, 1926, in Clermont, Iowa, the daughter of John and Emma Erickson. She graduated from high school in Clermont, attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids for two years, and then schooling in Chicago for three years, receiving her nursing degree. On Aug. 6, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert Hart Larsen in Clermont. The couple made their home in Iowa City, where Loyce worked as a registered nurse for the VA Health Care System for over 30 years.
Her family includes her children, Steven of Waterloo, David (Stacey) of Iowa City, Vicky Kontowicz (Steve) of Brookfield, Wis., and Nancy Jones (Mike) of Iowa City; and five grandchildren, Haleigh Jones, Emily Jones, Derek Larsen, Gabriel Larsen and Eden Larsen.
Loyce was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sister, Irene DeSart; and her brother, Norman Erickson.
