Lowell Temme, 83, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Evansville, Ind., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at Northbrook Manor Nursing Home, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Marion, conducted by the Rev. Gregory R. Williamson. Service: 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at the church. Burial: at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel of Cedar Rapids; children, Linda (Ben) Rossman of Robins, Brian (Paula) Temme of Windom, Minn., Marcia (Dave) McCandless of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Mike (Holly) Temme of Chesapeake, Va.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (John) Laden; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Lowell was born Oct. 5, 1932, in Evansville, Ind., the son of Oscar and Margaret (Berry) Temme. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Lowell and Ethel Winternheimer were united in marriage on Sept. 12, 1953, in Evansville. He graduated from Evansville University with a mechanical engineering degree. Lowell traveled the world with his job. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, golfing and spending time with his family. Lowell enjoyed his trip on an Honor Flight.
