Lowell A. Lain, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died following a sudden illness Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with a visitation one hour before the service. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, John (Faith) Lain and Laura (Brian) Prull; granddaughter, Samantha Lain; and brother, Loran H. Lain Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Kai.
Lowell was born Feb. 5, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Loran and Evelyn (Melsha) Lain Sr. He married Kai Pon on Nov. 17, 1970, in Cedar Rapids. Lowell served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Universal from 1974 to 1993 and later at Iowa Manufacturing from 1993 to 2001.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
