Lowell Gordon Brenneman, 87, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Parkview Manor in Wellman.
Lowell was born Jan. 11, 1930, in Kalona, Iowa, the son of Ora and Gertrude (Yoder) Brenneman. He attended Woodland rural country school. On Aug. 13, 1950, Lowell was united in marriage to Lucille Swartzendruber at Wellman Mennonite Church.
He was a machinery dealer for 40 years. Lowell was a member of Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church, where he held many church offices and taught Sunday school. He enjoyed spending time with family, visiting with people, eating out and traveling.
Lowell is survived by two sons, Ronald (Nancy) Brenneman of Wellman and Lowell Gregory (Edwina) Brenneman of Swisher; four grandchildren, Amy (Nate) Fick, Caleb (Nancy) Brenneman, Seth Brenneman and Wyatt (Grace Sippy) Brenneman; five great- grandchildren, Simona, Andreas, Maria, Jonas and Markus; a sister, Nita Erb of Kalona; a brother, Clair (Faye) Brenneman of Palmer Lake, Colo.; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Miller of Wellman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille; a sister, Audrey Miller; and a brother-in-law, John Erb.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 17, at Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church, rural Kalona. Pastor Don Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 16, at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona.
A general memorial fund has been established.
