LOVELL "LOVEY" MCGILLICUDDY

Lovell "Lovey" Mae McGillicuddy, 96, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at Living Center East Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. The Rev. David Beckman will officiate. Burial will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery following the Mass.
Survivors include her children, Jan (Bill) Kuba, Angie (Russ) Laures and Joe (Jeri) McGillicuddy; nine grandchildren, Lisa Canney, Matt Kuba, Mike Kuba, Sara McWhinney, Ryan Shawver, Matt Klinger, Brad Klinger, Lynn Laures and Brad Laures, and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John McGillicuddy; and seven siblings, Byron, Robert, Harlan, Lloyd Yearian, Earlyne Jones, Neva Donahue and Dorothy Shannahan.
Lovell Mae McGillicuddy was born on Feb. 12, 1919, in Williamsburg, Iowa, to Earl and Albie (Dubishar) Yearian. She was united in marriage to John McGillicuddy on Nov. 30, 1944, in Holbrook, Iowa. He passed away in 1995. She worked for Alliant Energy as a secretary from 1962 until 1977. Lovey was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church. She will always be remembered for being a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
The family would like to thank all the residents and staff from Living Center East Nursing Home and Summit Pointe Senior Living for their love and support as well as St. Luke's Hospice nurses and staff for the tender care given to Lovey.
Memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
