Louise Siebels, 94, of Monticello, died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospice, Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with interment in Wayne Zion Cemetery. The Rev. Ellery Dykeman will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. Sunday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be given to Above and Beyond Hospice, Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, Jones Regional Medical Center or Camp Courageous of Iowa.

Surviving are her six children, Jeanette Johnson, Appleton, Wis., Cleo (Mike) Rogers, Cascade, David (Sally) Siebels, Monticello, Elaine (Gary) Pitz, Peosta, Beverly (James) Ervin, Monticello, and Paul (Linda) Siebels, Monticello; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; her sister, Laura Ortgies, Anamosa; five sisters-in-law, Dolly Caspers, Irma Jean Caspers, Irma Caspers, Donna Siebels and Margaret Ann Siebels; and a special nephew and niece, Gary and Judy Freese.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harvey; a grandson, Devin Siebels; a son-in-law, LeRoy Johnson; and four brothers, Henry, George, Carl and Earl.
Louise Caspers was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Castle Grove Township, Jones County, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Johanna Poppe Caspers. Louise graduated from the Anamosa Community Schools in 1938. She then worked at Reliance Shirt Factory for five years.
Frances Louise Caspers and Harvey Siebels were married Dec. 15, 1943, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa. The couple farmed near Anamosa for 11 years. They later moved to the Folkers farm in Wayne Township, where they farmed for 47 years. The couple retired and moved to Monticello on Nov. 18, 2000.
Harvey preceded her in death June 21, 2003. Louise moved to the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in March 2012.
Louise was baptized March 10, 1920, at Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, Castle Grove. She confirmed her faith on April 14, 1935, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa.
