LOUISE L. FLORENCE
Clinton
Louise L. Florence, 69, of Clinton, passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center North. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Louise was born in Clinton, on March 23, 1948, the daughter of Alvin and Theresa (Thielen) Dohrn. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1966. Louise married Danny Florence on Sept. 16, 1967, in Preston. Louise was a secretary with the Clinton School System at Horace Mann Elementary and later in the human resource department at Roosevelt. Following her retirement, she served as secretary with the Clinton Regional Development Corp. Louise was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, PEO and a past member of the Clinton Country Club and Valley Oaks. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed following them in all their activities. She enjoyed golfing and her garden of flowers.
Louise is survived by her husband, Danny; two children, Brad (Bev) Florence of Peosta and Tricia (Paul) Nederhiser of Ely; six grandchildren, Matthew, Brandon, Ziana, Kingston, Natalie and Nathan; her brother, Alvin J. (Lois) Dohrn of Ankeny; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Theresa.
