Louis E. Trachta, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015. Funeral services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at
Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton, with Father Ardel Barta officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by Iowa Military Funeral Honors. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Vinton.
Louis is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Jo Trachta of Vinton; one son, Don "Bugsy" (Kim) Trachta; one daughter, Debra (Dana) Anderson of Maine; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established.
