LouAnn Myers, 94, died peacefully Thursday, October 9, 2025 surrounded by her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 PM, Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Christ the King Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM to 12 PM at the Church. The Iowa City Nurse Honor Guard will honor Lou Ann at the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Christ the King Lutheran Church or Iowa City Hospice.
LouAnn was born on September 22, 1931 to Gilbert and Lottie Medalon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was raised in Lyon County, Iowa on farms and attended one-room schools for 8 years. She graduated from Inwood, Iowa high school in 1949.
LouAnn was accepted to the University of Iowa College of Nursing and graduated in 1953. She worked at the Iowa City Veterans Hospital for 35 years where she met her husband, Robert Myers. They were married in 1954 and raised three boys – Mark, Christopher and David.
She was active in scouting for all three boys as a Den Mother and attended activities all through school years. She actively was a member of Iowa Alumni Association, Legion Auxiliary and volunteered at the Coralville Library for 20 years. Enjoyed reading, cooking, entertaining, playing bridge and doing Norwegian Rosemaling. She was actively involved at Christ the King Lutheran Church for many years.
LouAnn is survived by grandson, Charles Myers, daughter-in-law, Deb Myers, two step-grandchildren, Nick Stroud and Jessica Stroud, and five great-grandchildren, Ruby, Nolan, Wyatt, Charlotte and August.
Preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Lottie, brother Gerald, husband Robert and sons, Mark, Christopher and David.
