Losh, Benedict
Benedict Losh, 70, of Morley, passed away Jan. 4, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 5 p.m., with services at 7 p.m., at Fairview Baptist Church, 23194 County Road E34, Anamosa.
Ben is survived by his wife, Cynthia Charlene; his sons, Barry, Todd and James; his little girl, Suzanne and son in-law Alex Stathos; grandchildren, Jacob, Justin, Brooke, Brayden, Christina, Sarah and John Paul; great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Gabriel; and his brothers and sister, Alvin, Mark, Esther and Jerry.
Preceding in death were his brothers, Rex and Gene; his parents, Alvin Sr. and Isabelle; and his beloved daughter in-law, Dana, whom he loved greatly.
He was born in Brooklyn, Ind., on April 3, 1942, and graduated from Martinsville High School in 1960. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Cuban Crisis. In 1961, he wed the love of his life, Cynthia Charlene Mitchell, and they were married for 51 years. He retired from PMX in Cedar Rapids after 15 years and served on the Morley City Council.
Ben's passions were golf, bowling, fishing, and reading westerns. His commitment to his family and community was never ending. Although a man of few words, Ben touched many lives. His spirit lives on in the hearts of all his children and family. May he rest in peace.
