Lorraine Marguerite Jacobson Willia entered her heavenly condo on Thursday afternoon, June 2, 2016, at Higley Mansion in Cedar Rapids. The funeral worship service will be at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha, at 10 a.m. Monday, June 6, and will be conducted by Pastor Daniel Krueger. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
Lorraine was born in Winneshiek County to Alfred and Calma (Ask) Jacobson on May 5, 1920, and was their only child. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Mabel, Minn., and graduated in 1937 from Mabel High School. She then went to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
Lorraine married Charles Rosell in 1940 and they moved to Cedar Rapids, where they later divorced. In 1950, she married Henry Willia and they moved to Hiawatha, where they were home builders, developed land in Hiawatha and farmed and raised horses.
Lorraine also was a hair dresser and had a salon in her first home in Hiawatha. She also worked at Collins Radio.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Rosell; her husband, Henry; and a stepdaughter, Janice (Chuck) Hofer.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlaine Trinkle (Gilbert) Meseke, and her son, Robert "Bob" Willia, both of Cedar Rapids; and a stepdaughter, Joanie (Roger) Arney of Mooselake, Minn. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Mark (Pam) Trinkle of Springville, Matthew (Sheila) Trinkle of Cedar Rapids, Marian Trinkle Hogan of South Korea, Martin "Marty" Trinkle of Cedar Rapids, Joshua (Lizette) Willia of Cedar Rapids, Rachel (Brandon) McCurdy of Illinois and Jeremy (Kim) Willia of Muscatine; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha or Higley Mansion Residential Care in Cedar Rapids.
